I’ve been hearing about these lip butters for such a long time and heard they were really hard to find. At first when seeing other’s reviews on the product I got the impression that they weren’t really worth the hassle to hunt down and purchase. However, when I went to my local Walgreen’s and tried to find them just because I was curious I couldn’t and then I HAD to find them!!!! The cosmetic lady at Walgreen’s was extremely nice and suggested I go to CVS because her store had not recieved the shipment of them yet. I headed over to CVS and found them nowhere, looked ALL over the Revlon section and started to leave and there they were, on a separate display!
I tell you about this struggle to find them not only to warn you they are hard to find, but also to explain why now I just HAD to try them. The display was really picked through, but I fortunately found the two colors I really wanted to try since they were neutrals of course 🙂 The other more red-ish colors I have heard are good as well, it’s just a color I don’t gravitate to.
The colors I picked up were Creme Brulee #095 and Creamsicle #065
The concept of this product is to be a really moisturizing lip balm/lipstick. The color pay off is not exactly a lipstick but it definitely gives you a color to your lips and a glossy finish. The packaging looks like their other lipsticks but the cover is clear and color matching to the product. There is no scent, booo, they should have made them smell like creme brulee and creamsicle!!! They also twist up.
On the left is the Creme Brulee and on the right is Creamsicle as you can see Creme Brulee is more brown and Creamsicle is more a peachy/pink tone.
What I love: Great texture and perfect amount of color payoff and moisture. There are also a good variety of colors to choose from.
What I not so much love: They’re not scented personal preference I guess and they are really hard to find.
Give them a try and let me know what YOU think!
After seeing these new palettes around at various stores I finally decided to try it out. The specific one I purchased was 09 sweet chocolate browns. I chose this one because it was the most neutral out of all of them and I figured I’d get he most use out of it. There are many different ones!
Each one comes with 5 glitters that are highly concentrated. 4 out of the 5 are chunkier and one is a finer glitter. At first when swatching the colors with my finger it was hard to get a concentrated glitter swatch. I found it actually very useful to use the applicators that they supply.
Since this is a cream product I made sure when using it on my eyes to apply a primer and an eyeshadow over the primer to provide a good base reasonably free of oil to prevent creasing. I wore it twice. Once was before heading to work and once was before a day off where I ran random errands and so on so I could see how it held up.
My verdict: there is creasing that occurs but I found that if you apply the primer and eyeshadow then the glitter THEN apply again the eyeshadow over the glitter or a translucent powder over it, it can aid in preventing creasing. When removing makeup the glitter is very hard to completely take away. You will notice a few left over glitter specs for a day. What I liked was the glitter payoff. It is very buildable or you can apply just a little.
I wouldn’t necessaryily purchase another pallet for a few reasons. One being that I don’t have many occasions where is want to have glitter eyes. Two, the other colors available are very vibrant and I probably wouldn’t utilize them as often except a gold pallet I saw.
Overall I like the product and would recommend it to you. Just try different application techniques to find what works with your skin and oil scale.

One issue that I have had since high school was when I started to get acne then there has been the scaring that has occurred after. I have SUCH A BAD HABIT of popping my zits no matter the circumstances. You should ONLY POP sits when your face and hands are clean of makeup, dirt, oil, and it should be done using a needle. NOT your fingers!
Well, being the impatient one, I have always just obsessed with popping those bad boys ASAP! As a sad result I have acne scaring like crazy as you can see in the picture.
Looking around online for a natural solution which I prefer over using medicines, and topical treatments such as acne scar serums etc. I came upon a ridiculously cheap and natural way to go about the issue.
It’s a mask that you create out of cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey!!!
It is recommended that you use natural honey as it is not altered in any way from its natural state which will allow it to do the job better.
Here is a link to one of the sites I saw that gave a bunch of info on all the health benefits of each ingredient and how to make it.
Simple version: get equal amounts of each ingredient, mix and apply to acne scares and any acne flair ups and leave on for 30 mins. Rinse with warm water and moisturize as usual.
I read that it took about 4 days to see results. I am going to touch base in 4 days with an update and give you the 411!!! So stay tuned! And thanks for reading!!
Let me know how it worked for you!

I’m so excited for this post because I got a lot of goodies and I’ve been itching to do some mini reviews! I have been putting together a list of a few items I’ve been wanting to get and I got most of them today and decided to put off some of the other items until next paycheck, but here is what I got and some first impressions + mini reviews of things I have used for a few weeks now! Let’s get started!
What I got at ULTA:
Kiss everlasting French Press on Nails – $5.99
I have been getting acrylics for some years now and I can’t really afford to keep them up all the time like I would want to. I know of a few people who have used this brand of press on nails and they swear by them! They look very natural and easy to apply, so I’m going to give them a go!
NYX Jumbo pencil in Black Bean – $4.49
I have purchased two other Jumbo pencils before and, I L-O-V-E them! such a good base for eye shadows and very creamy and easy to apply. I decided since Fall is officially here I would be doing more smokey eye looks so I wanted to get a good dark base and Black Bean would be great! I will be depotting my pencils soon though because the sharpener for those pencils was expensive and depotting them is NOT! Tutorial on that coming SOON!
NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sugar Pie – $5.49
It’s very pretty natural color and a direct dupe for Nars Turkish Delight. My first impression of this product since I have never used their lip shines before is that it’s AMAZING! The texture is so creamy, not sticky at all. It has a very pleasant sent to it and the color is so pretty! The once thing I don’t like is that the applicator is rough and feels like it is scratching my lips a bit but I do love the angle of the applicator very nice. Will definitely purchase more.
EOS Everyday Hand Lotion – $3.99
I am really liking this line of products from EOS (Evolution of Soft). Their products are 97% natural and paraben-free. I have purchased their lip balm previously and it was 3.29 from Rite Aid and it is by far the best chapstick I have ever used. I used this hand lotion right when I picked it up and it made my hands feel so soft and it is the perfect size to throw in your purse. I got the green bottle (no scent name) there was also a blue one. It smells fruity, and it isn’t too strong. Love it! Also, I love their packaging it’s so different and fun!
Urban Decay De Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting-Spray – $11.00
I have been wanting to try this product for some time now, I have never used a setting spray of my own before just one of my friends and I loved how it helped prevent my makeup from moving. I decided to get the small version of this product before getting the big one because it is more expensive. Right when I purchased it I got to my car and sprayed my makeup because I knew I had more places to go and the weather was amking me kind of sweaty so I wanted to see how it held up with more shopping and washing my car. My first impression was that it worked pretty well. When I get hot I tend to get very oily lately, especially where I work (no A/C!!) and I notice my makeup moving a lot. I will update my thoughts on this product as I use it more.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Noraml/Dry Skin in 150 Buff – $9.98
I have always been a fan of this foundation. I was actually wanting to purchase NYX HD Foundation but, unfortunately you can only buy it online at the moment. What the uppity up NYX??? I didn’t want to do that even though I have heard such awesome things about it because I know I will more than likely get the wrong color ha. So I am waiting for it to get into stores. I am highly confident I will love this foundation, I always have! Easily bendable, medium coverage that can be built up to full and lasts all day!
Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips – $5.00
I haven’t tried or even opened the package on this one yet but I have heard great things from other gurus and online reviews, so excited to try them out! I wouldn’t say I have a terrible problem with clogged pores on my nose, but I am sure this wouldn’t hurt to try and get the gunk on them! I will let you know how I feel about them after!
Queen Helene The Original Mint Julep Masque – $2.47
I used this before at a friends house while in the shower and I have heard great things about it. Let me tell you me la la love it. After using it my face feels so soft and it does what it claims! Helps dry up acne pimples, rinses away blackheads and shrinks enlarged pores. It feel so refreshing and I kind of wanna shower just to try it again! Not to mention its a huge bottle and dirt cheap!
Holy crap that was long!!! The things I wanted to purchase but decided to put on hold was Garnier Clinical dark spot remover thing. I have been keeping up with gurus and their progress with the product and I havent heard anything bad about it. It was 14 some dollars at walmart and I will pick it up next time and give you all a week by week review on it for sure! I didn’t pick up a new wallet (I really need to) or anymore candles. WHICH, btw the candles at Walmart are so cheap and smell delicious! I’m kind of wondering why I spend so much on Bath and Body Works candles haha. Will purchase some next time!!
Thanks so much for reading this ridiculously long blog and I will keep you guys updated with the products! I hope you enjoyed this and you are enjoying your day!
I’ve honestly never dabbled in the world of pigments when shopping for make-up for a few reasons. I’m REALLY clumsy haha and I always fear ill drop the container and say good bye money!!! Haha. Another reason is my disbelief that they would last all day on the face. I feel like they would fall throughout the day due to them being loose and not packed like other shadows.
I finally decided I would give them a go and try these bad boys out. A nearby boutique that carries the pigments was going out of business and the pigments were ridiculously cheap so I grabbed a few. I went home and tried them for the duration of a couple weeks and here’s what I think!
The pro’s: amazing color pay off. These pigments are super bright! They also go on really nicely and I didn’t get much fallout, surprisingly!
The con’s: they crease! I used urban decay primer potion prior and they still creased so that bummed me out. They also seem to stain my brushes and lids slightly. I don’t really understand that. This is kind of nitpicking but the container opening is really small so I would suggest transferring the product to another container and storing it that way so it is easily accessible 🙂
Bottom line, I WOULD purchase more NYX pigments and this does make me highly interested in other brands of pigments.
I say pick some up for yourself 🙂
Here’s swatches of the colors I picked.. enjoy!
It’s the middle of the work week, you wake up an hour late and realize there isn’t time for a shower and you look at your hair and its looking drab!!! Not a hair tie or clip in sight and time is running out. We’ve all been there one time or another and always wonder, what should I do?!
A product that really caught my eye is dry shampoo! How genius! Washing your hair everyday strips it of its natural oils and can really dry it out which leads to hair that gets damaged extremely fast. I would recommend washing it every other day and on the days you don’t wash it and you notice some extra oil accumulating, go for a dry shampoo, or baby powder!!
I’ve been trying out Tresemme Freshstart line. I used the dry shampoo for oily/straight to normal hair. It’s an aerosol spray that once it contacts the hair its designed to soak up extra oil and you brush it out and style as usual. I’ve used it for a week now.
What I love about it: by just using a couple sprays it did soak up oil and brush out. It’s a quick fix when time is running out.
What I don’t so much love: if used too much it makes my hair clump and have a weird texture!! It can turn your hair white!
What I suggest: after asking my friends what they thought about dry shampoo I had a few people suggest to sticking to just baby powder. Sprinkle a little on and brush it out and it will smell and look just washed! I thought this was a great idea because its so cheap and easy.
I would definitely suggest using a dry shampoo or baby powder after a workout. Works awesome!! I also had friends suggest some higher end dry shampoos, I haven’t dried those but from what I hear, they live up to their price!
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy some non greasy hair!
It’s the new thing in the nail world and it seems to be really setting sail. The first time I came across this new idea I was actually at a nail salon and when I first saw it I thought it was weird!!! After that I began to see it everywhere!
My sister recently purchased the 2012 crackle nail polish (color: savior) at a local boutique and as I pictured I applied it over silver nail polish and over hot pink nail polish.
What I love: its a neat effect and can cover up mistakes from the base coat! It dries fast!
What I don’t so much love: it looks chalky without a clear top coat.
Tips: do a thin layer of the crackle and don’t re-brush over old strokes. Aka don’t layer polish. I was sure to start at the complete side of the nail and move across avoiding over lapping to ensure the best cracks. Otherwise it might not crack as much.
Be creative and try different base colors with opposing crackle color for super cool effects. I’m sure you’ll be asked about it everywhere you go 🙂
I’m not sure if using different brands of crackle will have an impact on your experience but this worked for me and it was only 3.99!!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more beauty tips, reviews, and tutorials 🙂
