Best Drug Store Foundation

I usually won’t go to department stores to get foundations for a few reasons, one being that they are usually REALLY expensive, I’m talking, $28-$60 dollars. These foundations would usually last me about 3 months and there formulas always feel too heavy for my skin or I become really oily after wearing them for even a few hours. My solution to being a poor college student looking for a good coverage foundation that won’t burn a hole in my wallet is going to the drugstore! There are a bunch of different foundations out there at the drugstore, but here I will tell you my top 3 picks when I go to the drugstore for foundation that I know have never let me down.

My #1 pick: Revlon Colorstay Foundation

Why: It gives me a full coverage and lasts me throughout the whole day, even when walking around campus during a hot day. It gives me medium-full coverage and they have a good selection of shades to suit all skin tones. They have different formulas for dry skin, combination/oily, and oil skin.

Cost: This foundation will only cost you about $10 depending on where you go.

My #2 Pick: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation

Why: I love the consistency of this formula, it’s not watery and it’s also not super thick like some department store foundations I have tried. It gives me full-coverage and it claims to last you a full 25 hours, I don’t usually wear my make-up to bed so I can’t really agree to this statement, but the 13 hours I DO wear my foundation, this definitely stands up to the test! It come sin 11 shades.

Cost: This will cost you about $10 like the previous.

My #3 Pick: L’oreal True Match Foundation

Why: Holy toledo! This foundation has so many shades, I would say about 30! This foundation works very well for me because it has so many shades it is pretty easy to find the right one for you. What is also really nice about this foundation is that it is very easy to mix to colors if you find that your skin tone is starting to change because of the seasons. It’s light weight and gives me medium coverage.

Cost: This is about $11 at any drugstore

Just to let everyone know, I have used these foundations in the past so I feel I am giving a true testament to how they perform and I can assure you that you can’t really go wrong with these. Thanks for reading and I hope you find something that works for you!

About Megan Fitzgerald

This blog started out as a school project and I have been inspired to make it a beauty blog to put myself out there and share my thoughts on things from make-up to life and everything in between. Feel free to leave comments, good and or bad, as I am always looking to improve myself :) A little about me. I am 23 years old and recently graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in June of 2011 with a BA in Psychology. My passion for hair design and make-up artistry has always had a big part in my life. It started as an addiction, really, and now I am hoping to go to school to become licensed. Some may say "what a weird transition.. degree in Psychology to beauty school?" However, I believe people should follow their passion and their dreams, and this is mine! Life is too short to sit behind a desk! I rather be behind the chair or in front of an individual making them feel truly beautiful inside and out. I mean, hey, a lot of hair dressers I meet swear they are therapists as well ;) Here's to passion!
